In November, we adopted a 4 year old GSP. We were hopeful that Gunnie could learn to hunt as on my runs I found that he LOVED BIRDS!! Unfortunately, we then learned he was gun-shy (couldn't even cap 20 yards away). After doing some research, we found Markus at Wrangler Kennels only an hour away from us! We took Gunnie over for evaluation. Markus thought Gunnie had enough bird drive that he could be worked out of the gun shyness. Yep, 2 months later and Gunnie doesn't even flinch when a shot gun goes off near or over him...he just wines and stares wanting the bird! Now a month into actual bird dog training and Gunnie is doing AWESOME!! He'll be ready in time for hunting season too. Markus is fabulous with the dogs and the dogs all seem happy with him! Markus also encourages the family to come and work with the dogs so that we humans get training along with the dogs. I would not hesitate to send another of my family pets to him so they can hunt and be a part of the family! |

Markus as you can see by the photo I sent, Clair is doing great! This was her 1st experience with live birds. She has an exceptional nose. I also tested her on backing & guess what she shut down at about 40 yards & started to ever so slowly creep in 1st time also. She is a natural retriever. I want to thank you again for producing such a fine line of dogs. I believe these dogs will train themselves without any problem. Just get them on birds & they will do the rest! |

I took my 6 month old GSP to Markus for puppy training. I cannot believe how much he has learned in one short month. Markus is a true professional and really took the time to show me what he was doing and why; he spent an entire morning with me showing me dogs that were in different stages of training. What a cool experience. I can’t wait to take him back for gun dog training in October. Thank you Markus! |

Just a short note to say thanks to Markus for training my GSP, Ava. She has really changed and is much more relaxed and focused as well. I am looking forward to continuing her training over the summer and getting her on some pheasant and quail this fall and winter. Thanks Markus for a great training experience! |

Markus, Thanks for giving me the opportunity to purchase a pup from the Gunner/Ruby cross. Clair is very bold & biddable. She is already showing the natural retrieving instincts. I'll keep you updated on her progress. |

Looks like the English pointer pup we picked is going to be everything one would want in a gun dog. Thank you. It's great to have good dogs. |

I was in El Paso working and called to see if I could visit the kennels and take a look at Markus's dogs. He told me sure come on out. Very impressed with kennels and dogs. I will purchase my next pointer from Wrangler kennels. |

Markus worked with my one year old Pudelpointer, Jazpr, last winter. I had been prepping Jaz for the NAVHDA natural ability test and Markus did a wonderful job in his training during the two months I had Jaz with him. It turns out that Jaz made a perfect score of 113 under some pretty tough conditions. I look forward to working with Markus more as he has been very helpful in both training me and my dog. I highly recommend him. |

Hello Markus, I wanted to let you know how the pups we bought are doing. We bought two pups a male and female from the May 2010 litter of Gunner and Jo Jo, Belle & Tank. We started NSTRA trialing them recently. Tank has an absolutely gorgeous point! One of the best looking points I've ever seen. He is big running and bold! But he is a little later to mature than Belle. Tank may have missed his calling. He would be perfectly suited to horse back trials. He's struggling to stay within the boundaries of even our 45 acre fields! But he is learning and is a joy to watch. Belle is fantastic! The easiest dog to trial we've ever had. She does everything right, literally! She is big running, but adapts naturally to the terrain. She is a hard running dog, very snappy and stylish, biddable and extremely smart! Last weekend she ran with my husband handling her because I had to judge. I had the real & rare pleasure of watching her on a back that turned into a successful point. When I am judging I don't judge dogs that my family is running, but I was judging Belle's brace mate on a point that Belle was backing. It was a beautiful back with the dogs facing each other. The pointing dog, Annie gave up her point that Belle was backing and left. Belle could not have smelled the bird because she was on the wrong side of the wind, but when Annie left Belle swung around to check the spot since no bird was produced, picked up the scent and pointed. Wayne produced and shot the bird and Belle made a very nice retrieve! She received very high scores. She is so smart. She went on to take a first place in that field and a second in another field that weekend. We've had a number of people try to buy her, but there is no way we will sell. On wild birds she is excellent! Everyone wants to hunt behind Belle! it was a great NSTRA weekend for us! I believe we'll champion Belle without any trouble and probably Tank too when he matures a bit. We still love the pups we got from you!! Thank you. |
