Brian Cluff of Safford, AZ,

I had originally put a deposit down for one of Wrangler Kennel's GSP breeding’s with Belle x Jocko (Still working on one with Belle :) ) When Markus sold out on the litter before it got to my pick he offered me one of his English Pointer pups out of his Gunner x Jo Jo litter (Bull). I was so impressed with this dog I bought another pointer from him out of his frozen semen HTA x JoJo litter (Tuff). I hunt Gamble's, Blue’s, and Mearns quail with my dogs as well as help out with guiding on a local Pheasant & Chuckar preserve called "The Bird Finger". I also have gotten into walking field trials to keep the dogs in shape during the off-season. My main love and hobby however is wild bird hunting. Arizona has hundreds of thousands of acres of public land on which to hunt quail. The terrain we hunt in Arizona has some pretty harsh conditions. Most of the vegetation and wildlife either bites,, stings or cuts you and your dogs. You need dogs that can handle the heat and when the going gets tough, won't quit if they get some cactus in them. Wrangler Kennel’s Honky Tonk Attitude x Crow's Little Joe crosses seems to fit this bill very well. These are hard charging 100% bird dogs that don't quit. They are slender built, lean, light on their feet and have awesome noses. This allows them to keep going all day, even in warmer temps. They also have a ton of style and just flat out look good on their birds. The two English Pointers I have gotten from Wrangler Kennels have both been natural retrievers. This is very important to me because I hate loosing or having to search for shot birds. I also don’t enjoy having to force break dogs to retrieve. These two dogs however have both been biddable, east to train, and really seem to want to please as well as hunt for you. They have just the right amount of independence which allows them to range out and find birds, but they also check back in with you. That’s important to me because I hate hunting with a dog that is a run-off, or can’t be trusted to stay steady on his birds.
I've talked to many of the top Kennels across the US and even bought a few dogs from them. Markus at Wrangler Kennels has been by far the best to work with. Some of the breeders and kennels with the top bloodlines and dogs don't always have the best "people skills". Maybe that's why they're in the dog business full-time, they’re better with dogs than they are people. Markus however is friendly, easy to talk to and knows his dogs and bloodlines inside and out. He breeds off of some of the top field trial blood lines available, but he also hunts his dogs to make sure they have what it takes to get it done wild bird hunting. It's rare to find a breeder with the caliber of dogs Markus has at Wrangler Kennels and is so easy to talk to. Markus follows through on what he tells you. I found his honesty and integrity to be above and beyond my expectations. For all of these reasons I can highly recommend Markus at Wrangler Kennels for you next German Shorthair or English Pointer. Whether you’re after a hunting partner, field trialing dog, or both, Wrangler Kennel’s dogs will fit the bill and exceed your expectations.

I used to raise, train, hunt and field trial pointers a bit. I was just looking around on the internet and came across your Wrangler Kennels website. I enjoyed the site and the dog photos and was surprised to see one of my old dogs in your breeding lineage. Take Care, Karl Barry

Markus: We wanted to express our complete satisfaction in the puppy that we have received from your kennel. We have had Tucher for almost 3 weeks now and have not been disappointed! He is extremely well mannered and has been showing numerous wonderful instincts already! His shape, size, and coloring is perfect - we couldn't have asked for a better dog! Thank you again...we look forward to joining you in the future for some training sessions!

Cody of Las Cruces, NM,

I bought a beautiful little white female out of Gunner and JoJo. We are all so taken with this little puppy, she has a great happy go lucky attitude and is very friendly, but tough and mentally strong. She is advancing so fast in her training its really fun. She has made some awesome water retrieves, is holding her birds well, handling to the whistle and voice commands; as well as being whoa broke. The most amazing thing is her nose. She has pointed chuckar and quail from 35+ yards on several different occasions, all this from a six month old puppy with a little more than a month of training! She is a great example of what an exceptional breeding program Wrangler Kennels has. Thanks for all your help training this little pup and for giving me the oppritunity to own such a well bred animal. I encourage anyone interested in buying a pup from Wrangler Kennels. Get in contact with Markus for your next bird dog as he is one of the most honest guys I've ever met.

Markus- Thank you very much for allowing me to participate in your training routine. It was definitely worth the 6 hour drive to see your dogs work. You have a lot of passion for what you do. You have beautiful dogs that seem very biddable. Cant wait to get my pup.

Hello Markus, just received my male puppy from gunner/jo jo. he arrived well and healthy and pointed a pigeon the second day. thanks for all your efforts in getting this puppy to me. the hot weather did not permit flying the puppy and i appreciate you finding a quality ground transport. I have a hta daughter out of a gaurd rail daughter and getting this puppy out of hta/crows little joe bloodlines should cross well with my females.as you know i hunt woodcock, guide and train at a preserve and run nstra so this puppy will be busy. It`s hard to find a good breeder with good dogs. You have been both. thanks again.

Hi Mark, My hunting partner Charlie Wynn and I were so impressed with your HTA/Crow's Little Joe breeding program, and your overall kennel operation, that we bought a female puppy from each of your recent GUNNER/COPPER and GUNNER/JO JO litters. We have not been disappointed, as these puppies are displaying all of the traits we look for in foot-hunting bird dogs. You are to be commended on your keen operation and attention to detail - and the topping on the cake is the involvement of your family - making me feel very welcome, and providing me with good memories of my recent visits. If it is true that a feller can't have too many bird dogs, well then of course I want to be on the list for a direct daughter of Honky Tonk Attitude! Many thanks and my best regards. Brad
